I need to slow down
Slowing down shouldn't be your mantra. Making better food choices should be.
While I am not anti-fat, I highly doubt non-pureed pot roast was a good idea this soon out. Four years out I still have problems with meat, even well-chewed, on random days.
And cereal? If your nutritionist or surgeon told you to eat cereal this early, or at all really, you need to sue them for malpractice. Empty carbs, empty calories, empty empty empty.
Please note I am not picking on you at all... just on whomever is giving you eating advice at this stage.

Yeah, it's definitely early for pot roast. Stick to your protein shakes or maybe beans and peanut butter for protein. Also, greek yogurt, the Dannon Fit N' Light, is yummy and has low calories and lots of protein. Softer foods like these will feel better on your stomach. Good luck!
I'm not far behind you on dates, so I'm pretty close to you on what you can eat. My surgeon has me on soft foods. This includes soft, moist meats (not pureed), soft veggies (not raw), soft breads, brown rice, pasta...very limited.
I added this to say - I nearly made a pot roast this past weekend. I don't do fat, so I only eat the strings of it, with some nice, roasted carrots. I would have never thought it was a bad idea.
I'm quite pleased to know that my pouch, so far, has accepted NEARLY everything I've put in it, with the exception of milk and ice cream.
