What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning and happy Thanksgiving Eve! In true "fat office" fashion, someone just brought in bagels. le sigh Those mf-ers are still warm and I can smell them from where I'm sitting. Stay strong, Kristen! LOL
I think today's productivity level here at work will be loooow. There's hardly anyone here and I'm not feeling particularly efficient. Plus I've got so much to do at home to get ready to leave for the weekend; I think I'd have less to do if we were staying home. Actually I know I'd have less to do. And we're bringing the dog, which causes me incredible amounts of anxiety because it's just one extra "thing" to worry about. OK, enough *****ing. LOL
Question of the Day! This is cliché, I realize, but what are you thankful for? You can be as honest or as snarky as you want here. This is a No Judgment zone. I'll go first: I am thankful for the gift of my surgery, this site, and our little group of menu posters in particular. You guys are super great. I'm also thankful for heated car seats and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.

Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be grateful for this year. My family has had an extraordinarily tough year (unexpected death, house fire, job loss and chronic illness) but we all made it through and I actually managed to come out healthier and stronger (thank you, RNY!). I also am so thankful I found this group. I really hope I get to check in every day when the new jobs starts!!!!

I hope everyone has a nice, non stressful day tomorrow!!!
Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Eve! We decided last minute to go to my in-laws tonight instead of tomorrow. And like you Kristen, I am stressing over our dog, packing and making sure I have enough wine to survive my in-laws.
I am thankful for my husband, my friends, and my children. I am thankful for the wonderful tool my surgeon had given me and everything I have accomplished physcially in the past year. I am also thankful for OH and all the support I receive daily from this group. I love you guys!
My menu is up in the air. Too many variables but I know I will be high on carbs. I will do my best today and tomorrow but I'm not going to freak if I get a bit off track. I plan to enjoy my holiday and try to make the best choices I can. If I screw up I will start over, I'm taking this one easy.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Thankful for all my support groups- online and in person. My son and his family are coming tomorrow and so thankful for them and thankful I got over my fears and had WLS and am here to spend time with them. Thankful for my faith in God and how it gets me through the day.

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving Eve to you, too. No one here has brought any junk in today, but that's because they are a bunch of grinchy cheap asses, lol! I will say that I miss warm breadstuffs. A fresh warm bagle with a smear of cream cheese was enough to curl my toes. But, even if I wanted to cheat now, I'm so early out that it would just make me miserable.
I made a sugar free pumpkin cheesecake last night in prep for Thanksgiving. It is beautiful and sitting in my fridge for tomorrow. I used Mackies Sugar Free low carb cheesecake on food.com and subbed out some of the sour cream for pumpkin puree. I added a dash of pumpkin pie spice and made a pecan crust. The crust was super easy, I just melted half a stick of butter with 2.5 cups of pecans, 2 tbls of splenda and a dash of cinnamon, then chopped it all up in the food processor and baked it for 10 minutes at 350 in a springform pan. Here's a pic of the masterpiece. I won't take it out of the spring form pan until tomorrow, I just hope that I baked it long enough and it's set all the way through.
My mother gets the results of her PET scan this afternoon. This should definitely show how far the suspected cancer has spread. My aunt is going with her this afternoon, but I will be going to my mothers house directly from work. I'm praying for a good result and that they were wrong all along and it was just nothing. I know the odds are not in her favor, but praying for a miracle.
So, here is what I am grateful for:
I have the most understanding, supportive, hard working husband that has ever walked the earth. He's put up with my bull**** for 10 years and I am so thankful everyday that he came into my life. He's been awesome with my oldest son, who was 7 when they met, and is an incredible father to my youngest. He made me feel like a beautiful princess when I was morbidly obese, and he celebrates my victories with me as I make the changes to be healthy. My life took a complete turn for the better when I met him, and I honestly don't know what I would do without him in my life. My goal in life is to be the best wife to him that I can be, because he deserves the best that there is. Oh, I can live with the farting, and the football all weekend long, those are nothing compared to everything that he does for me and the way he makes me feel.
I'm also grateful for my kids. My oldest was the reason that I held myself together during a nasty divorce with his dad. His kindness and compassion goes well beyond what a 16 year old should possess. He's funny, smart and handsome, and I couldn't have asked for a better kid. I don't know if it was my parenting, luck or genetics, but that kid is incredible. I pray that I can do him justice and be the kind of mom that he needs. I'm also very grateful for my youngest. He came into our family and made it complete. He is the bright light when things get rough, and we are all tired from working and just life in general. That baby can light up any room and he loves with his whole heart.
I do want to also say that I am thankful for my surgery and for OH, and all of you regulars. You guys give me somewhere to vent, make me think with your posts and keep my accountable for what I put in my mouth. I feel like I've found a home here. I know that if the going gets too rough I can run to the boards and scream HELP! and there will be people here with encouragement and advice to help me stay on track. This place is a Godsend and I'm so glad I stumbled across you all when researching WLS.
Food:
B: lite and fit peach yogurt, coffee w/cream & splenda
L: chicken deli meat with laughing cow cheese spread on half a low carb tortilla
D: trader joes sweet apple maple sausage with steamed cauliflower
S: BBQ chicken jerky and a Premier Protein
Totals: Cal 659 Protein 78 Carb 38 Fat 22
Also, I broke the carb cycle last night. I did not snack at all, though my hubby made popcorn and it was tempting, I didn't have any. I did lick about a quarter ounce of cheesecake batter from the mixer paddle, and had a pinch of pecan mixture before baking. Low carb and sugar free, yay!
No goodies in my office. Oddly though candy (Halloween type candy) had been coming back on desk- I've been good though- haven't touched a piece. Just got the word they are letting us go at 2pm today.
What I'm Thankful for: The things that keep coming to my mind over and over is this: I'm thankful that despite carrying over 300#'s for 1/2 my life, I don't have joint pain, diabetes, a bad back, etc. I can only imagine how much harder weight loss would be if I had to deal with physical ailments the extra weight had given me. Of course the other stuff too- family, job, my OH friends etc....
