still a lot of pain
I had ryn surgery 25 days ago and am still in a lot of pain. It is in the lower left quadrant of my stomach and the best way I can describe it is like a knife being shoved in then ripping inside. It mostly happens when trying to change positions. Anyone else still having problems this far out or know what it might be?
Definitely bring this to your surgeons attention, let them try to determine what might be happening. As for me, for about 60 days after my surgery, I could not turn over on to my side without it feeling like my insides were shifting. Again, it felt like that. It was not happening tho. I asked my surgeon about it and he told me that because of the surgery and the changes that were made your insides are much more sensitive and that the feeling should subside, but that if it became worse or changed in pain level, I needed to alert them immediately.
I know that each of us have different experiences, but it is always best to tell your surgeon of any continued pain that you are experiencing.
Hope you can get some answers from your surgeon and that you get some relief from the pain.
Thanks for your reply. I have told my surgeon and he didn't seem concerned. I have a follow up in 1 week and will be telling him again. At this time none of the pain medicine is working on whatever this pain is. I'm glad your better and certainly hope that it doesn't last 60 days because I don't think I can handle it.

I had a horrible pain in to the left of my belly button -- and it was crazy to me as I didn't even have an incision there! I remember making a special appointment for it -- and my surgeon advising it was nerve pain and that it would go away very suddenly. I didn't believe him fully -- it felt like I had a knife in my muscle at times.
Long story short, it DID go away suddenly. I woke up one morning at about 5 weeks out and the pain was gone.
Not saying it's the same for you or that you shouldn't see your doctor -- but that was my experience.
