Cardio

my psych clearance went well and she approved me for surgery.  went to the cardiologist EKG good, loop recorder reports looked good too, but he has me taking a four hour nuclear medication heart stress test.  I am a bit scared, has any others had this during their cardio clearance appointment.   My appointment is noon tomorrow.   Please need reassurances....many thanks.

I didn't have any kind of cardio clearance other than an EKG, so I can't really speak to that part of it.  But, I'll be keeping a good thought for you today; don't stress yourself out!

yes - I had it.  My surgeon requires of it of anyone over age 50.   It wasn't bad - it just felt weird for a few minutes when they gave me the injection.  It's supposed to mimic a hardcore exercise session, so your heart starts racing.  Some people get headaches or slight nausea (but I didn't...).  But the effect only lasts a few minutes.  Otherwise, the other part of the test is analyzing your heart under normal conditions, which is nothing.
