Right now I am down 60 pounds and in a size 18 pants.  They are baggy.  Not very attractive at all.  I have size 16 pants in my closet but am afraid to try them on.  I'm afraid I'll be discouraged if they don't fit and I have to continue to wear these droopy pants I'm currently in.  I know it will only take a minute to try them on, but I kind of feel like I haven't gotten to a certain weight and therefore I shouldn't see if they fit or not.

How silly is this?  lol  What kind of irrational fears have you experienced?

I never said it would be easy. I said it would be worth it.

Yes! Is refused to buy anything new until I was down 100 pounds!  I had this pair of jeans that I was terrified of... Thry were too trendy and cute. By the time I put them on, they fell right off. I think it is good to try things on... Fit or not because it gives you a more realistic view of where you are at.

Try them on!  Whats the worst that happens? They don't fit and you put them back for a week..

TRY THEM ON! You have been working hard. I didn't try on any of my smaller clothes, even though my husband kept telling me I was small enough to fit into them.  I missed out on weeks this summer of wearing cute capris and tops, because I was sure I was still too big.

I wish I would have tried them on. There was one pair that didn't fit until the end of summer, but I kept trying them on and it gave me a goal and something to look forward to.

Let us know how it goes.

How are you supposed to know if they fit if you don't try? Put them on, if they are too tight, put them back in the closet for another week, they will fit, and SOON!!!

You are robbing yourself of potentially wearing clothes that actually fit you!

You should definately try them on.  If they are too tight, wear them at home with the zipper down during the time of day it is hardest to stay on track to help with motivation.

Whenever my bottoms were baggy, I went down two sizes.  I now buy them so tight I can hardly get them up my legs, they don't come close to zipping.  2-4 weeks later, they are tight (can't sit down) and then the next week they fit.

I was always afraid when shopping. Trying on a size smaller was scary. But feels really great when you try something on and find it fits or is too big. I never thought I'd be in a size 4 or wear an xs. Some brands I do need a small but am learning which ones. At first I had a fear that some saleslady would come up and say you don't belong in this store! So try on those 16s and you might even amaze yourself and find they are baggy too! Keep up the good work.
