The price of boiled eggs.
I bought a bag of already boiled and peeled eggs yesterday. It was so hard to do. My mother's voice was yelling at me for being so NOT thrifty! I had to push hard.
You know what? The eggs are great. They are perfectly cooked and ready to eat when I need a meal. They were cheaper than a slice of cheesecake. I never agonized whether that was too expensive.
This is a food victory for me.

Interesting. I just bought a bag myself and they were gross--very chemically tasting and kind of rubbery. I wonder if I just got bad batch or if the ones I tried were not a quality brand? Maybe I'll try again, because I agree that the cost is totally worth the convenience :)
If this doesn't work, it is because the eggs are too fresh. Eggs need to sit in your fridge for at least one or two weeks before you boil them. I just keep two cartons of eggs on hand so that they are aged by the time I get around to boiling them. But hubby and I can easily go through a carton a week.
