What's on your Tuesday menu RNYers?
Hopefully the Tuesday nonsense hasn't caught up with AV again!
I'm a little conflicted today. My Mom apparently fell last night getting out the tub. I should call and check on her...BUT... My Mom has wished for nothing but her death for as along as I can remember. She immediately feels that anything that ails her will lead to her demise, despite doctors telling her otherwise (she just refuses to accept what they say-- and she's a nurse, so of course she knows more then them anyway). I'm sure she's decided the fall is probably due to some terminal underlying condition, and she'll carry on about how doctors know nothing, she's dying and just wi**** would come sooner. She even has do not resuscitate signs posted all over her house. Who wants to hear THAT ray of sunshine for 40 minutes? She has no joy. I so feel for my father who's dealt with this nonsense for way to many years now.

Well my eating day is well under way:
M1: Yogurt/Granola
M2: Sriracha Chicken breast, ham & cheese stick
M3 Turkey Breast over salad/apple
M4: Spaghetti. I also bought a squash to try and roast for knock/off noodles. Can anyone share how this is done? Not sure if I'll have the time though since basketball start tonight for my son.

So sorry to hear about your mom--both the fall and that she has not been able to keep up happy outlook for herself and her family. I have an uncle who has been telling me that he is going to die before I talk to him next for 25 years! It's kind of funny to me now, but it was pretty traumatizing in HS, when he signed off every phone call with his funeral wishes... ;)
And as for the spaghetti, I bought a "Veggetti" at Bed Bath and Beyond. Couldn't be easier to stick the squash in and rotate until you get the spaghetti noodles you want. Also if you are into Pinterest, there are a zillion healthy recipes there that use squash noodles.
I know what you mean with your Mom. My husband has been dying since I have known him. Per him, he was suppose to die about a week ago because he just knew that he had a brain tumor and had only about 2 weeks to live. I know your dad just tunes her out... that's what I do. I do think someday that something will be wrong and I will say it's nothing because he has cried "Wolf!" his whole life. Granted, he does have some health issues (his own doing) but it is tiring to hear about how someone is dying all the time!
Don't call her if it is going to bring you down... just my thoughts.
Did you buy a spaghetti squash? If so, cut it in half (length wise) and scoop out the seeds. Season with salt and pepper, and place face down on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake at 350 until soft (varies depending on the size, but generally around 30-40 minutes). Cool and scoop out the squash with a fork. It will come out in strands like spaghetti. I use it the same I would spaghetti. My favorites are with tomato sauce and chicken sausage, or sauteed with garlic, shallots, olive oil and parsley. Delicious served with shrimp or your lean protein of choice.

Good morning all! Good for you avoiding all the snacks - it's that rough time of year again! I'm trying to stay away from them too. I've been making protein pudding with pumpkin pie spice to help me feel like I'm having something sinful without actually doing it.
I love Blackish for comedy and Greys Anatomy and the Blacklist for drama. Hooked on all three.

Sharing a NSV on eating yesterday - menu for the day all worked out and stayed on plan yesterday, I do not eat anything at work I did not bring or set out for my meal (always donuts, Bagels or other bad foods at meetings). last night family decided to go to the Mayer Bros apple cider mill. They purchased two pies Apple Walnut Carmel & Pumpkin along with Cider slushies' - on the way home I stopped at Dunkin Donuts and had a hot herbal tea with sugar free Raspberry flavoring (no artificial sweetener in flavoring) thi**** the spot and I felt fine not having any pie or other offerings at the Cider Mill............... I notice if I avoid the sweetener in what I drink or eat I feel better and keep that nagging craving away. Even Trader Joe's Stevia.
