Sitting in the ER
Tonight at around 8:30pm I started feeling extreme discomfort in my tummy. It escalated, and agree going to bed and writhing in pain for anow hour I decided to stubs myself into the er. I was fearful of an ulcer. As I sat here, the passion subsided, of course.
They took an xray, and apparently my husband just been right fit all these years. I am indeed full of ****
I may had a bowel movement on Saturday, and I haven't felt backed up, but the er doc showed me the picture.
So I'll be heading home shortly and before I climb into beg I'm going to take a dose Miralx.
Half of me is kicking myself for coming in, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
A dose of Miralx... .,. How about 4-5 or 8... Sorry.. But if you that impacted ... One dose may not help...
For me to stay regular I need 2- 3 per day...
Hugs...
Keep disposable gloves and Vaseline handy. Consider enema to losen things out from the other side. IMO - stay away from any calcium or iron until you get fully clean... And fiber... Hugs and good luck. ..

Read the bottle. Miralax can take a few days to work. Taking an extra dose really shouldn't leave you in the bathroom all day. And remember, this is working on what is being formed currently for the most part. The other is going to have to be pushed out by this. It's not fun. It might not turn out to be the explosive experience I think you may be imagining. More often it is a painful struggle to pass rock hard poop. Then once you get past that you have softer poop. Sorry if that's TMI. But many, including myself, have had similiar experiences.
Also why you might want to consider adding a dose of Miralax to your daily routine. Because it does take those couple of days to work it's really better not to stop. It's not addictive as it works different than an actual laxative. Some add 2 doses. Some take a dose and a stool softener or 2 a day.
It's going to be a learning experience.
At the risk of being crowned the "Queen of Constipation," I will yet again reply stating my personal experience: At 3 months post-op, bathroom problems started. I regret not treating constipation like an on-going issue. I could have avoided back-up days had I continued a daily regime of prevention. Today, I take two separate doses of Miralax, 2 Magnesium pills, probiotics, lots of water, and daily exercise. When traveling or out of routine, Senekot-S brand laxative is used for additional precaution, as well.
Contact your bariatric surgeon. This is not a small matter. You would not be the first person who was going and still got impacted. Not to be taken lightly.
