What's on Your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
If you have spices you don't need a "Packet" Salt and pepper the beef, dredge the beef in flour which you have added salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and my secret weapon a little bit of cinnamon, it makes the stew taste and smell amazing. Brown the beef, add to the crockpot, add your beef broth and a little wine (either red or white or you can add beer). Then add your veggies as you normally do. No packet full of things you don't need.

probably will eat more of the root vegetable soup later or make a shrimp green curry ...after I buy a box of powdered milk .
Good morning,
I despise fundraisers, but I've done many over the years between school, girl scouts, softball, soccer, basketball, dance, cheerleading, karate. No more. At the high school level we hold events for families like the Truck or Treat or Kids Fitness Festival. We are also having a "ladies shopping/martini tasting night. Those kind are so much better.
Had my 6 mo. appt yesterday, all my levels were good, they were pleased with my weight loss (I'm not) and my nut wants me to increase my calories or begin to work up to 1,000 calories. Also, she says that I need to eat at least 100 grams of carbs a day, the average person needs about 250 grams for their brain cells.
I spent the day sitting around waiting my appoints were 11:00, 1:00 and 2:00. Had to wait 1/2 hr. for my car at the valet parking, had a 1-1/2 hr drive home because of traffic. Was home for 20 minutes before I had to leave for my PT appt. Finally got home at 6:50 after leaving my house yesterday morning at 9:15.
Time since surgery 6 months
B: 2 eggs scrambled
L: Deli Ham, Havarti Cheese, mustard,1 slice wheat bread, 1 clementine
D: Greek Salad w/steak
S: Babybel w/ Mary's gone crackers, Yasso Bar
I don't understand why nuts continue to give out such outdated and inaccurate advice on carbs. Yes, your brain cells need carbs, but your body is able to produce all of the carbs it needs by converting protein to carbs. You do not need to eat carbs at all! I'm not saying you should eat 0 carbs, but 100 per day is going to slow down or even completely stop your weight loss. It's your body. Do some research and decide for yourself. These programs are not designed for us to lose all of our excess weight, so if you want to do better, you will probably have to eat more restrictively than your program says. I was told to start eating more at my last appointment too, but I ignored them. I am not going to force myself to eat more than necessary to function. I have a hard enough time getting enough protein. Trying to get more carbs just isn't going to happen for me right now. I assume my body will start wanting more food on its own and I don't need to force it. You decide for yourself. I just wanted to give you a different prospective.

. Is that what she wants at 6 months out? Your calories will naturally increase the further out you get. No need to make it happen.
Edited because I had written some stupid math :)

Good morning! Reading this thread is seriously the best part of my morning. AV, your posts always make me laugh! What up!? or What up, yo?! is the standard greeting from me also!! We are in full blown fundraising season in my office. I actually try to participate because I know funding sucks, but at times it becomes overwhelming. I like the idea of making a donation instead of a purchase. I have more wrapping paper than I can possibly use and while cookie dough is always a good thing, I'm probably better off keeping it far away from me!!
B: 3.5 oz ground Turkey, spinach and 1 oz shredded mozzarella
S: Somersaults
L: Pulled pork and edamame
S: light and fit and peanut butter
D: Strip steak and tomato, cucumber, avocado and feta salad
Totals: Cal. 1,151; Protein: 113g; Fat: 48g; Carbs: 50g
I'm running tonight so I'll have to throw in another snack . . .
I love sometsaults when I can find them. Problem is portion control.

I immediately portion them out into snack size baggies and only grab one baggie as I'm running out the door. The cinnamon is my favorite, but I don't discriminate. One of the Costco stores by me had the cocoa flavor in the giant economy size. I didn't grab it though because of the three flavors, cocoa is my least favorite. If they had the cinnamon, I would have been like a hoarder.
5 months out
B: 1/2 C lemon Greek yogurt w/ 8 fresh raspberries
S: one scoop protein powder in water
L: 1/4 stuffed squash (acorn squash, turkey sausage, leek, kale)
S: one scoop protein powder in water
D: not sure yet - we're going out to dinner with my family. My mother and I usually split a chicken or fish entree - I eat about 1/4 of it, she eats the remaining 3/4
stats are pending on dinner, but I always aim for 80-100 grams of protein and am usually in the 800-1000 kcal range
