What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
Leaving you and your mother good thoughts- I'm glad that she's cut down on the smoking, as that should help. *hugs*
And as others have said, one fritter bite is really good- I would have had a lot more than that. You're a strong and awesome lady!
Take care,

Oh Deanna, I am so sorry to hear about your mom :( My mom was diagnosed with cancer 1.5 years ago and she was here this weekend enrollee to a specialist in Philadelphia. As of now her PET scan is good, so we continue to stay positive. I will send good thoughts your way so that your mom also has a good experience and is able to perhaps fight this. I think a therapist is a great idea and I have tossed that idea around for a while now. Until then (or even if you do find a therapist) we are here for you - we understand the "turn to food in times of stress/loneliness/fear/etc." that you may experience, and we can share our coping mechanisms with you. Though to be honest it sounds like you are doing great. I am very proud of you!
Time since surgery almost 6 months
Breakfast- Apple pie greek yogurt and pumpkin flax granola
S: 1/2 banana (I'm getting leg cramps again)
L: Salad with perdue short cuts chicken breast
S: fruit cup, cheese stick and cashews
D: curry chicken *I'm going out on a limb and trying this again*. First time I had it post op I threw up, I'm hoping my stomach has built up a tolerance for it now. Wish me luck!
I shopped a bit this weekend. You know you are frequenting thrift stores a lot when you finally fit the SOOOO cute coat you had tried on there a month or so ago.
The nice thing about this thread is that I was feeling awful about my breakfast thing morning and doing the beat myself up thing and then I come on here and I'm not alone. So I dust off my self-hating and move along determined to make better choices the rest of the day! But of course since I feel like crap from my bad choice I don't know how much I'll be able to stomache the rest of the day. But I came armed with grapes and salad and sf pudding.
Heres to a better day and awesome tomorrow!
Why are carbs so freaking good? Why don't they give us a lobotomy when they rearrange our insides? It would make all this so much easier...
That being said, I'm just into work after my 18 month follow up at the surgeon. Everything looked good except that my blood pressure was THROUGH THE ROOF - like the nurse first said they normally would send someone to the EMERGENCY ROOM if it was that high - which of course then put me into a panic so there was NO WAY it was going to go down. I had been rushing, I was stressed, I read a work email telling me we hadn't gotten a $100K grant I was counting on - but it was SO high. I laid on the table waiting for the nurse practitioner to come in, taking deep breaths, but it was still high. Thankfully she told me since I was having a headache or blurry vision or shakiness that she wouldn't actually make me go to the ER but that I should follow up with my primary - so I just left my doc a message (which is a whole other mess because this morning I got an email from the practice saying has of October 16 - which, you know, was FRIDAY) that the satellite location, which is where I go, was no longer affiliated with the practice and is now there own thing, but they didn't give like a phone number or anything - ugh!
So basically it's one of those Monday mornings when I just want to go back to bed.
