What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
So, what I was TRYING to say (I'm looking at you OH) was that I went hiking with my husband this weekend and I hated every single second of it. LOL He's been trying to get me to climb this crazy steep hill down the road that's part of the CNY land trust for years. He's all "once you get up there there're all these trails in the woods and it's so nice, blah blah blah". Well, I finally relented and what I learned is that my definition of a trail and Matt's definition of a trail are vastly different. This was a deer trail, not a people trail, so I spent the whole time fighting hip tall brush and trying very hard not to fall and roll back down the what I am SURE was a 75 degree incline. One I got up there I was like "we're going to have to find another way offa this ridge because I'm not going back down the way we came." LOL Buuut, I took a bunch of pictures up there as photographic evidence that I made it and lived to tell the tale. Stay tuned for Photo Friday!

Also, that's pretty funny about the hiking. I'm sorry it was not a good experience, sounds like hubby maybe should have picked a better first hike LOL.

Good morning. I had my surgery exactly 17 months ago. Happy surgiversary to me!! I had a quiet weekend, ran 7 miles on Saturday and ran errands all weekend. A friend is trying to convince me to run the Los Angeles Rock N Roll half marathon in 2 weeks. I'm running the 1/2 marathon in Vegas in 5 weeks and I need to do a long training run, so . . . I'm trying to decide if it's absolutely crazy to run 2 half-marathons in a span of 5 weeks. My instincts are telling me yes! Also, I'm trying to get back on track this week. I let my carbs/sweets get way out of control this weekend. When I was at Costco (looking for very healthy greek yogurt) I was starving, but rather than buy something healthy like cheese or lunch meat, I decided to buy a bag of pretzels drizzled with caramel and chocolate. WHAT WAS I THINKING??? Later, I had a few bites of a triple berry cake. Had a few more bites of the triple berry cake last night. UGH!! The cake is now in the trash and the pretzel things are in the refrigerator in my garage. Hopefully out of sight out of mind. I need to do better today. Mamata2, I'd totally be with you on the low carb train this week if I wasn't under orders to eat higher carbs. Ugh, ugh UGH! Also, my food plan is kind of up in the air. I'm having dinner with another one of my surgeon's patients tonight. So, dinner will depend on what restaurant we pick. I will definitely eat protein forward. Here's my plan.
B: ground turkey, spinach and shredded mozzarella cheese
S: Somersaults and half a pear
L: Grilled chicken and mixed veggies
S: Light and Fit (still can't find the fall flavors) and PB2
D: ????
