Major problems 3 weeks out. The week from hell
Wow, what a hard time you've been happening. Here's hoping everything goes smoothly from here on out. Take care of yourself.

Having a complication can happen, but your experience goes way beyond. Not only did you have a complication, have an incident at the hospital due to neglect, but you got brought back to life and suffered broken ribs and now swelling. I have to think that someone is looking out for you. If you believe in God, he had a hand in making sure you survive. You have no where to go but UP! Maybe you can negotiate a free plastic surgery for all your problems, a kind of out of court settlement.

So sorry to hear that you had this experience, Matthew. It makes me LIVID to hear that the pull-cord in the bathroom was broken and that could have cost you your life. If that had happened to me, I would be seeking out an attorney.

I'm a little over three weeks post-op and as I read your story, all I could think about was, "that could have been me."
Like others, I'm so glad that you're okay and I hope you'll keep us updated. Going back to the liquid diet sucks, but on the plus side, you likely won't ever have to be on the liquid stage again once you get past it this time around.
Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help!
