It should not impact your stomach at all. Many of us had routine cortisone shots in our knees for years after RNY. Although there is a very slight risk of stomach irritation from steroids, that is mostly associated with oral steroids. the NSAIDS, on the other hand, are another matter.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

You should be fine.

That is a local delivery mechanism.

My surgeon had me put off a cortisone shot in my shoulder until 6-8 weeks after surgery. He said it could slow the healing process. I am now 9 months out and have 2 more - one shoulder and one plantar fascitia. If you are still concerned, call the doctor's office. Also, for a short time I could take a NSAID, but the doctor had a regimen I had to follow.

Uh-oh. I guess I didn't even think about not being able to take NSAID's after surgery. What will I do? I have some days of pretty horrible lower back pain and without the Aleve I couldn't function.
