I'm so naughty

I was prescribed Omeprazole for 3 mos post op. Stopped taking it and it was very painful! So the doc gave it to me for 6 mos. Same thing happened after 6 mos. So, 2+ years post op and I'm still taking it. I've tried again stopping but the pain is bad about 3 days without it.

I think your body get used to the Omeprazole. I had to go off of it for 2 weeks for a h.pylori test and it was hellish. But it did get better as the 2 weeks wore on... it seemed like a withdrawal. I never want to go through that withdrawal again. Now I am only taking it occasionally. I never had GERD before, so not sure what it going on.
