I eat a variety of foods! Protein shake everyday( doc is fine with it), herbal teas ( decaff), I don't eat seafood but all other meats are fine. I am trying to find other things to eat that I usually don't to see if it is just a dull palette. I won't do the seafood, texture is all wrong for me!! I take my pepcid 40mg twice a day. If my gallbladder could cause an issue what type of things should I look out for??
I am 8 weeks out and have a hard time eating. I have to force myself to eat and then I start gagging toward the third bite. Just the smell of food makes me sick. I am drinking a protein shake daily and adding unflavored protein to my crystal light. I try to eat 2-3 times daily a few bites of protein first of course. I am losing at the rate of 0.5lbs per day but I figure I didn't put all this lusciousness on overnight so it will take time to get it off. My best advice is to keep trying, each day is different. Get some unflavord protein to add to your food or drink, change things up a bit to find what works for you and don't forget your water.
Actually a lot of my weight loss surgery success is because I lost interest in food and eating. I found out that I will not waste away to nothing and die of starvation if I miss meals.
After a while you find foods that you like and eat those.
In the meantime I did just survive on protein shakes.
For me it was just part of the journey.
It will be eight years this month. I no longer have food cravings, I no longer get hungry and there are no foods that are temptations for me. I never crave anything. I eat five or six small meals a day. I take my supplements, my labs are fine, I wear size 4 jeans and am full of energy.
Food for me is simply fuel.
I think it would be a much harder journey if I still loved foods and loved to eat. I think what is happening to you is a bonus that will make life easier.
