first bad experience...

I had RNY 10days ago on Sept. 21.  Great since then and have been able to tolerate soft foods real well.  But yesterday, in search of something new I used apple juice to mix my protein shake with.  BIG mistake.  after literally a night of cramping and diarrhea I think I might survive.  First lesson.... don't eat or drink anything without checking the label.  Ant idea though on how long this weak feeling is going to last??

Thanks all

Rich

I really don't know how long it will last but yeah, apple juice is too much sugar.  For some reason I've seen people post that it's on their plan which really surprises me.  I hope you feel better soon.  P.S.  I am in Canton, GA.

I'm in Kennesaw!  Hope you keep up with your success.  IS there or has there ever been a local support group here?

Our plan allowed it, but it was supposed to be diluted with water (50% each), and not recommended after you got off liquids.

It is horrible to find out that something is going to make you sick after eating it. I hope you feel better. It sucks to learn the hard way.

I will be two years out in two weeks. There are so many people here that will help you. I am still learning. I thought I could try pizza but it didn't like me. I spent the night with my heating pad on my stomach. I tried it at home thank goodness.

I have learned a lot from the vets who are here. They want us to do well with our weight loss journey.

Sounds like you dumped. I'm sure you'll be keenly aware of labels going forward.l don't dump and while I can drink Apple juice,  juice is a major trigger for me, I drank must of my calories prior to we wls. On the rare occasion I have it now it's diluted with 3/4 water to 1/4 juice.

Feels like a hard lesson, but if this is the worse it gets I know I can do this.  I'll be a label reader from now on!!
