Vitamin patch update
Just wanted to update those of you who've been thinking about trying the vitamin patch. I've been using it consistently for 2.5 months, and just visited the surgeon for my six-month update (due to scheduling it's actually 7.5 months).
It turns out my B12 was at 318, which, while it is considered "normal," my surgeon's office prefers it to be above 400, so they gave me a B12 shot and I'll get more monthly until it goes back up.
Overall, I've made the decision to go back to taking the pills. I'll be doubling up on sublingual B12s for the next few months until they tell me to back off. Everything else was ok, but my calcium did go down a little.
I believe that if cir****tances were otherwise, I would be ok trying the patches for a few more months, with additional calcium and B12 supplementation. However, it turn out I'm also 8 weeks pregnant, so I'm going back to the pills, since I know they'll work.
Congratulations!! I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy.
