Sorry you're under the weather, maybe chicken soup should be on the menu in the near future!
Repairs are finally under way on our water line, with any luck we'll have water by tonight. Makes me nervous sitting in here while the work is done, they'll be shooting a "missel" under ground to penetrate the concrete basement wall.... Seems like so much could go wrong.
Time since surgery: 5 months
Breakfast: Oikos vanilla yogurt and 1 kashi pumpkin spice flax granola bar. (The bars are packed in twos)
Snack: cashews and cheese stick

Peach, I see you're from Philly, too (ok, I live in the suburbs now, but I still FEEL like I'm from Philly, does that county?). Where'd you have your surgery? I did the Temple program, but did info sessions at Jeff, Penn, and Einstein too.

Sure it counts! Some days I wish I could move to the' burbs (can't do to work).
I had my surgery at chestnut hill hospital. My surgeon (Dr. Meilahn) was at temple for years before he moved over to chestnut hill last year.
I didn't have a supervised diet requirement, and since I attended an orientation years ago, they didn't make me do it again. I loved being at a smaller community hospital, temple and Jefferson I'm sure are good, but just because of the amount of folks the big name hospitals attract, I think they add more hoops to jump through. From consult to surgery I was less than 8 weeks.

Wow! That's awesome. One of my best friends had her surgery with Meilahn at Temple and loved him! I had my surgery with Dr. Clarke, who worked under Meilahn.

So, yesterday I veered from my plan, and I had:
16 oz decaf coffee
18 oz protein shake (400 cals, 73.5 g protein)
16 oz shake from gym (149 cals, 12 g protein)
Vegan quinoa salad from gym (240 cals, 8 g protein, 44 g carbs!!!!!! )
Sugar free pudding (50 cals)
One Babybel cheese (70 cals, 5 g protein)
Cals: 909 (grumbles) Prot: 98.5 g H20: 50 oz
……………………………………………………………….
While I did go over my hoped-for cal intake, I did have a really intense workout at the pool with the trainer. The kind where I'd have to stop a quarter of the way down the lane just to regain breath. I swallowed a lot of water.
Today's plan:
I skipped breakfast without meaning to, so that blows.
18 oz of protein shake throughout the day
L: Tomato Soup
S: Brie cheese and turkey
D: Protein shake from gym
V/W: Started
E: One hour swimming at pool
Cals: 850 Prot: 73.5 g H2O: at least 48 oz, as I'll be drinking all day.
My goodness,
-LB
