Questions?

How long was your hospital stay?

Did you have to have the lovonox injections?

Was there a drain?

Was the catheter in once you got out, or was it already out?

What did you drink in hospital?

Anything else that isn't mentioned?

Getting close (Hopefully late Nov/Dec)

My stay was two nights.  Surgery on Monday, home on Wednesday.  This seems to be pretty standard.

Yes, I had Lovenox injections.

I did not have a drain.  This seems to vary quite a lot by surgeon, procedure, and technique.

I don't think I was ever catheterized.  It's a relatively short procedure.  If I was it was removed before I awoke.

Water.

My stay was one night. Surgery on Monday, home by noon on Tuesday.

I only had one of the injections because I was up and walking really quickly.

No drain; this varies a lot by surgeon.

My surgeon's practice doesn't routinely cath during surgery, so I never was, although a friend of mine with the same surgeon had to have one after she was out of recovery due to difficulty urinating.

Water, protein drinks, and a little yogurt the day after surgery.

Good luck!

I had a lap-band removed, hernia repaired and RNY done. I was in for 2 nights. No to the lovonox, yes to the drain and catheter. I only had water until about an hour before I was released, when I sipped on a protein shake.

All these vary by doctor so a good question for your surgeon. But for me I was hospitalized only one night. I did have lovenox injections but no drain or catheter. You will be so happy you did this!

I stayed one night.

Yes, 7 days of injections

No drain

Catheter was still in post op, taken out a few hours before discharge.

I drank water, and broth. Was given jello but didn't want to attempt it.

Hi Supershopper:

How long was your hospital stay?  Three nights.

Did you have to have the lovonox injections? Nope!

Was there a drain? Nope!

Was the catheter in once you got out, or was it already out? The catheter was in when I woke up, but it was removed shortly afterward.

What did you drink in hospital?  I drank water and a little bit of tea.  Also ate some sf jello.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

-LB

My stay was 2 nights---but I had a hard time getting fluid in normal for my surgeon is 1 night.

No Lovonox I was walking very quickly after surgery and I got up on my own more.

Cath stayed in first night

they started with gum but that made me feel really sick so I skipped that and did sips of water until breakfast when they added diluded juice and broth
