Emotional eating - how do you get through it?
A couple things. You are in the midst of your major weight loss. This causes hormones that were stored in your fat cells to come pouring out. It can make you feel all over the place.
Another is perhaps your role in your family is changing a bit with weight loss? Maybe you use to put all the members of your family first and now you are really putting yourself first. That can shake **** up.
You and I both have 14 year old boys. Fot that reason alone we should be granted unlimited access to Godiva.

Hang in there. Trust me it get's easier as time goes on. I had RNY nine months ago and I still miss pizza and pasta. But I find that it's getting way easier as time goes on. I'm worried about winter because I won't be able to exercise as much. I just pray for the best. I do know one for sure I will NEVER go back to being morbidly obese. Good luck.

I understand, its hard. Ive found keeping a journal near me when i feel emotional helps just getting it out.
But, on another note.. im a HUGE pizza lover!! So, this is what i do:
1 low car tortilla , add a spoonfull of sugar free pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni, and moz cheese.. bake in oven until crispy and done and slice up like a pizza.. OMG i can eat that all the time!! My kids now love it too :)
You can do any variation as well, add veggies, with different sauces and meats..
i wish you luck its hard but keep telling yourself you got this!!

I find keeping a written food journal works for me. I keep totals of calories, grams of carbs, grams of protein and ounces of fluid.
I write down every bite. Just knowing I will write it in my journal makes me look at the labels and often that's all it takes to put the item down and sometimes throw it away.
I have to be gluten free and I'm reactive hypoglycemic - so keep grams of sugar to single digits per serving. I often don't eat what others are eating because of my restricitions - but after 6+ years, it doesn't bother me any more.
Journaling keeps me accountable and I tally totals after lunch so I have a good idea of how to plan the last half of my day.
I also read, read, read. Click on my name or picture to find a reading list. I would suggest "The Beck Diet Solution". It isn't a diet (and doesn't recommend a specific diet) but a book on changing behavior - how you think and react.
Those two things help so much. Also being active on OH helps keep your mind on track.
Best wishes,
Penny
