I know this was an unexpected trip, but enjoy your visit with your family. And, bravo, for Mom asking what you can eat.  At least you know she is not going to shove a chocolate cake in your face when you walk in the door.

My parents have past, but I know whenever I went home Mom made sure to have all my favorite foods on hand. But, if I was dieting, she always made sure there were plenty of good choices available.

I miss that my Mom and Dad haven't been able to see my weight loss success... they would have been so happy for me!... like I am sure your Mom will be for yours.

Good afternoon!  Congrats on that size 10 and medium!!!  I have been celebrating with shopping.  I just moved down in clothes size too!  I think my husband is going to kick my ass when he sees the Macy's bill .   He is the one that told me I needed some new clothes that fit.

HMMM - my go to is seafood - steamed - shrimp, lobster, crab legs.  I love it all!  I could eat it every day . . . wait, pretty sure I do.  Not terribly creative, but good protein and easy to make!

Time since surgery: 11 mos

B:  Leftover Panera Turkey Chili (so happy to have it back on the menu)

L:  Hummus chicken salad, 1/2 sandwich thin, apple

D:  Turkey, mashed potato, green beans

V/W  started

exercise  treadmill 1 hour

HA!  At least once a week my husband tells me not to use the Macy's card.  LOL

I just couldn't do it!  I have some premier protein drinks at home and I know my protein has been lacking, so I tried to have one for breakfast.  I gagged at the first sip.  I LOVED them pre-op and now I can't stand to have the taste in my mouth.  I've tried all three flavors, and I just can't do it.  I ended up ordering the starter pack from Unjury today.  Maybe I'll like to mix them myself, and a savory option could be good too.  It comes with 2 packets of each of their flavors.  Keeping my fingers crossed!  I don't have any good recipes to share right now, but I will say that all the posts today inspired me and I ordered a zoodle maker from amazon.  I should have it on Saturday (go, Amazon Prime, go!)

So here's what I'm eating today:

B: one tiny sip of yucky protein drink, one small coffee with cream and sf pumpkin shot, and 1.5 Nature Valley Protein Granola Bites.

L: 3oz of refried beans with 1/2 oz shredded cheese and some tasty salsa mixed in.

S: cheese stick

D: 3oz of homemade chili.

I haven't done the calories yet, but this will definitely not be a good day.  My protein will be way too low and my calories will be about 450-500.  I'm feeling down still and am having some serious back pain from sitting at this stupid desk all day, every day.

Nashua Nutrition sells samples of lots of different protein powders. The Unjury ones I tried were okay... the chicken soup is good to add into other hot chicken type soups to up the protein.

If you really hate protein shakes (and I will admit, I am finicky but I love the chocolate Premier Protein shakes) try Genepro. It is an unflavored protein and there is 30 grams of protein in a tablespoon. I have used it and keep forgetting to get more... it is a local company for me but they do sell it on Amazon and it gets great reviews. There has been debate on this site about this product claims but I think it is a good protein source.  It's good to mix in things that have a lot of flavor... like pudding, chocolate milk, soup, etc. I will admit I could taste a slight difference when I mixed it in with tea but I am picky about my tea.

I know you can get samples from the company... http://shopmusclegen.com/all-products/genepro-sample

Thanks,  I'm going to the Chiropractor next week.  I haven't been in years,  and I had to switch doctors since my insurance had changed.  But I'm really looking forward to getting adjusted.
