I am on Seroguel a Psych medication and have some concerns on how this med (and most likely all med) will be taken and absorbed once I have my Gastric Bypass surgery.

I don't take that particular medicine, but I take an antidepressant. I have not had any issues with it or any other medicines since my surgery. Extended release medicines tend to be problematic as they don't get absorbed the way the they are intended to. You need to check with the provider that prescribed those meds for you to be sure.

Are you taking short-acting Seroquel or Seroquel XR?  The XR may be a problem post-RNY as we don't always absorb XR meds the same.  But some people never have a problem... you may have to wait and see (and talk to your psychiatrist).

I suggest talking with both psychiatrist and surgeon. Psychiatrist may or may not fully understand RNY. Some would not admit this. Pharmacist may help too.

Ask your doc -- if it's extended release, you might need to switch to immediate release and/or adjust the dosage. After RNY, I had to switch from a capsule to a tablet form of my Prozac because I wasn't absorbing the capsules very well.
