Grumpy within myself

For some reason today I am just not happy/satisfied with the food I ate.  I'm not hungry - but I'm over yogurt, and meat.  Really just want fruit or something else (I don't even really know what I want!).  I know I have to eat protein rich food...  I think I'm bored with it, and I think I've never just eaten for sustenance, in the past I have gotten pleasure (?) out of food.  And now I'm not! I think my issue might be what my Surgeon refers to as head hunger?  Where you do you go for food/recipe inspirations?  I think I need to vary what I cook.  Any suggestions welcome.

I eat the basics when I am on the run, but a couple of times a week I find recipes from Eggface, or Paleo websites or lowcarb websites.  Yesterday I put a can of pumpkin and 1 vanilla Premier protein shake with pumkin spice and steviea and baked it.  It was great and helped with boredom.  We went to the orchard and picked a bushel of apples.  I made my husband an apple crisp.  I may make an individual serving size for myself with stevia after the pumpkin souffle is finished.

Last week I made zuchinni boats. They have turkey burger, bbq sauce, onion, garlic and tomato paste and are baked.  They are delicious. You scoup out the seeds, and put the sloppy joe mix in the zuchinni and bake.

We can all get in a food rut. Not sure how far along you are, but it is good to try new things. 2 Bariatric blogs are: The World according to Eggface, and Bariatric Foodie. One non-bariatric but healthy one I love is Kalyn's Kitchen. Once they are out awhile, most people do eat fruit occasionally. They jus****ch the carbs for the day. If you do Protein Smoothies there are lots or recipes out there to mix them up and make them tasty.

I went through a stage when I was just so sick of yogurt and protein shakes! I stopped eating them. I focused more on meat and recipes with fresh herbs. I am back to my yogurt and protein shakes a year later and enjoy them. They are a low calorie, great source of protein. Good luck with it!

I think it will be hard to remain grumpy reading theworldaccordingtoeggface.com blog.

Head hunger is real. I soothed mine by looking at good food blogs.

Take care,

Crock pots are a great investment. They make life easier also.
