Protein needs and melanoma ?

So I'm 7 months out from RNY and doing well all my blood work as of last Monday was on the high normal side. I had gone to a dermatologist for a problem and while there he noticed a mark on my right arm that he decided to biopsy. Yikes! The injection to numb the area hurt like heck! The biopsy came back positive for melanoma which shocked me. So on the 15th I had surgery to remove the cancer. Talk about painful injections!! WOW I thought the one for the biopsy was bad but it didn't compares to the injections for the surgery! Afterwards a body check was done and another area on my right side was found and biopsied ( this area I can't even see so I went to wall marts dressing room to look at it in the 3 way mirror. The biopsy came back today... More melanoma and surgery is on the 29th, the same day my sutures come out of my arm. So my question is with all this cutting and cancer etc. should I up my protein intake and if so how much do you think? I put a call in to my surgeon but no reply as of yet. Thanks for reading my long winded question!

I don't have any advice on your nutritional needs, but wanted to wish you well on your recovery.

There is a cancer forum on this site. You can probably get the best info from people who are going through treatments similar to yours, so it might be best to repost, there.

Be well!
