Can someone give me some insight?

My surgeon's diet is extremely liberal, compared to many.  I spent the two days in the hospital on clear liquids, then was supposed to jump immediately to purees for days 3-14 (I didn't feel quite ready, so I waited another day or so).  At 15 days out, I was allowed to eat regularly textured meats, beans, soft fruits, etc.  

 

My suggestion is to follow the diet that YOUR doctor provided you.  No two doctors have the same guidelines, so you should be following the literature that you were given by your doctor.

That, actually, isn't a liberal food plan (not with 2 weeks of pureed foods!).  Liberal food plans get people back on solid foods in the first couple of weeks...
