That is fine.  I was served one ounce of mashed potatoes with one ounce of protein and will continue having one ounce of startch with one ounce of protein at night.  At this point I choose to follow my program here, To each his own but thanks for the input.

Just because a surgeon performs WLS doesn't mean they know what the patient should be eating afterward.  If you continue to follow their instructions you are just setting yourself up for failing in the long run.  Carbs, Sugars, starches and the like are going to do nothing to help you with the weightloss, but they will be right there to help you put the weight back on. 

Oh and eating cheese crisps right after surgery not good not good at all.

I wish you luck, because you are going to need it.

Maybe I need to clarify they are not exactly cheese crisps. I bought them in the bariatric boutique at the hospital they are by Kitchen Table Bakers and are made entirely of cheese.2 Carbohydrates, 0 sugar 7 g Protein They are o my protein list.  I started this journey and only need to loose 85 pounds so that I could get off insulin.  I appreciate your concern but you delivery needs some help.  Wishing you the best as we continue the journey an hope to meet you at the finish line.  I am confident I will get there my goal is already in site after loosing 8 lbs in one week.  I really don't need your wishes of luck I have great dieticians that I will use for my qustions

Been there done that. Common. The nerves in your new insides have not healed yet to give you that full filling. I remember my husband going to help at church on a Saturday and I cheated and has something that was on the "liquid" list.

I was hungry the first few weeks.  I had been dieting severly in the two months before surgery, and I thought the surgery would stop the hunger.  It does, but not right away. I was eating 800 calories on week 2.  My NUT and doctor said I was doing great.  I felt cheated and thought the surgery didn't work.  My doctor said just because you can, don't eat after 800 calories.  After 3 weeks, I had trouble eating 1 oz.  Now at 6 weeks, I am having trouble with ground beef and fish.  I have thrown up several times, sometimes from eating too fast, and sometimes from eating too much.  It really is trial and error.  I can eat chili 2-3 days in a row, and next week can not tolerate beef.  So, I would definately follow your plan and don't eat more even if you can.  When the nerves in your stomach heal, you will have restriction.  Another thing, is your stomach is not down by your belly button.  It is up high now that it is so little.  It is right by your breast bone.  So don't be looking to feel ful in your tummy, it is more like chest pain, or your esphogus.

800 calories is a lot. I guess it goes to show how different everyone's plans can be. I still only eat about 300-500 at this point and I am 6 1/2 weeks out. I still eat 45 grams of protein though.

Omg yes! For me it was head hunger and all mental. I am 9 months out and still find I want to eat more. I just work out and pray and it all works out. Thanks for your post and good luck to you.

I am almost 7 weeks out and I am still not really hungry. I can tell when I need to eat because I get lightheaded some. One week out, I was on full liquids for my plan so I was able to have protein shakes, cream soups, runny mashed potatoes, runny cream of wheat. Those helped to fill me up even with only eat two tablespoons of food at a time. It could all be mental. Going from eating to well not, can be a transition on the brain.
