Just wondering if anyone who has lost weight has experienced small bumps in arms And legs. I've lost 165# in 81/2 months, these bumps are somehow related to my fat shrinking but I don't exactly know how. Also my buttocks hurts a lot when I sit. Anyone else experience this? thanks

I have noticed a couple lumps/bumps under my skin around my rib area but I'm not sure what they are, I was thinking with less fat I could just feel things better and was going to wait to see what happens. As far as your butt hurting when you sit, I have heard a lot of folks on here talk about that and I too have that issue, it's like less cushing! One of the recommendations I heard was sitting on a pillow, eventually your butt will get use to it (I would think).  Good Luck with your journey!

Thanks Melissa.  Wow, in a month you've lost 75#?  Or did you loose some prior to surgery?

Oh sorry I read the date wrong.

Are the bumps little and pimple like or like chicken skin?

IF so, look up keratosis pilaris

Thanks, I looked it up, isn't that. Must be more like fat deposits or something. They are not visible, but you can feel them pretty much all over.i don't think they can be lipomas although I do have some of those too.

When you say "small bumps" do you mean ON the skin (like a bug bite or a pimple) or UNDER the skin (like you have a small pea or something underneath the skin)?

Yes under the skin like a pea.

Lora,

i know now you've been on here a long time, have you heard people complain a lot about buttocks pain when they sit, and is it due to lost padding?

thanks

Yep, it is very common and that is exactly what causes it.  Many people find that it gets better as time passes, but that sitting for long periods on hard surfaces always causes some discomfort.

The best thing you can do (the only thing that I know of, actually, other than sitting on something padded (which isn't always possible)) is to strengthen your gluteus muscles.  If you build up the muscle a bit, it will help cushion the bone.
