Having an awful time with gas and stomach pain. Taking Gas-Ex extra strength 2 times daily. Has anybody else had this issue? Otherwise I am fine.

I had really bad gas pain in my left shoulder. The thing that helped the most was walking as much as I could. It took several days to go away completely.  Glad all else is going well.

Told pcp and surgeon at 1st post op they didnt address wound up in ER with GASTRITIS over the following w/e.  Lots of meds but NO IV interesting when as Bariatric patients we are often dehydrated so soon after surgery.   Dr gave me one barbituate elixir donnatal no pharmacist would fill.  Followed up with sugeon following Mon and gastro specialistic wouldnt agree w barbituate script and by then I researched it and the elixir is high in alcohol content so I agreed but asked for something else to help with tight fistedness in mid of chest that lasts 1hr+ after eating puree anything and even for 10-15 min after some protein shake shake.  Gastro prescribed carafate IT WORKS VERY WELL and since I think I need to recover from the inflammation that caused the gastritis Im going back to protein shakes only to see if things get better.

Check everything you are eating or drinking for sugar alcohols.  My gas problem was caused by maltitol in my Celebrate chewable vitamins.  I switched to OPurity vitamins from Unjury and no longer have problems.

Sugar-free candy and sugar-free gum are big gas producers.  Also sugar-free popsicles, some puddings, some protein drinks.  Look for ingredients with "tol" on the end and don't use those products.

A fast way to get rid of the gas is to get your head lower than your buttocks.  I do that by bending over and pretending to tie or adjust my shoes.  Just a few seconds with your head down will get rid of the gas with no noise and no smells.
