Hunger or thirst?
I really don't understand their reasoning. 1/2 egg equals 3 grams of protein. A good cheese stick has 8 grams of protein. I couldn't have survived without cheese. It has been a staple for me since day two after surgery. Greek yogurt too. Those were the first foods I ate. Egg didn't sit well for a couple of months. I hope you figure out what works for you.

Same here. Eggs were problematic for me after WLS. I prefer to eat them over easy or poached instead of scrambled, even now.
Greek yogurt and cheese are my go-to proteins even now. It's so odd how surgeons can vary in their recommendations. Mine was very clear that I needed a minimum of 80 grams of protein per day.

I recall that thirst felt so different postop than it did preop. I never felt the same thirst signal; both hunger and thirst felt the same. You mention that you need to drink more. Your hunger between meals could very well be thirst.
