Vitamin Patches - 3 month results
I started using the patches 3 months ago at my 2 year surgiversary. I have had good test through out the past and keep a running list of all my levels. Today I got my newest results using the patches. Most items are good I need to go back to taking extra D and B12! Overall it seems the patch is as good as my opurity multi was but the extra supplementation I was doing needs to be restarted. I was hoping since I was not digesting it and it was over the course of 24 hours I would not need to. My calcium and Iron have maintained fine so I wont add those back. I am still waiting on my Vitamin A count
what I use to take:
Multi , calcium , iron (3 days a week as I don't menstruate much due to having an IUD) ,Vitamin D, Copper, magnesium, Vitamin A ,
Vitamin E, B12, B complex
What I have been taking:
Mulit - Patch
What I will start taking
Multi- Patch, Vitamin D, B12
All in all I am quite happy! I don't have the hassel of all the pills or worrying about the timing of pills in reference to eachother (Calcium and Iron) and since I hike and backpack a lot the space savings of just the patches vice having to pack out pills is HUGE!

Your results were the same as mine... Not enough B12 in the patches. I didn't have problems with my vitamin D level, but that's because I was already taking so much more than what's in the patch that I supplemented vitamin D along with the patch from the very beginning. I did the same thing with my iron.
It is encouraging to have others with similar results! I will be re-doing my labs in 6 months rather than waiting a full year just to be sure my levels don't change with prolonged use of the multivitamin patch.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I'll request 3 months again since they changed so much. Still waiting on a, e, and copper

Thre is a lot of research in transdermal patches for medication, but my PCP and I have not been able to find anything on the effectivity of vitamin patches.
I am 8 years out, so my vitamin regimen is very stable (although I am having bone loss issues so am still working on calcium dosing), and I was on them for almost 4 months before I had labs done, and will be checking labs again in six months rather than a year, just to be sure.
So far, everyone here who has tried them has reported generally good labs (B12 seems to be an issue) and no one has reported any bad labs. Just be sure that if you switch, you supplement the patch with pills/chews for any vitamins where your current dose is higher than what's in the patch (B12, Vit D, and iron seem to be the ones we still need to supplement)
