I am hating shakes right now.

We have all been there! I am a little over 5 months now and I still drink protein shakes for breakfast/AM snack. I drink the premier protein shakes, but just recently I started adding a protein pk pudding to it and ice, today was the real treat though. I added a little PB2 to add a little peanut butter taste, kinda tastes like a reese's peanut butter cup. It has a total of 282 calories, 13 Carbs, 48 proteins, and 2 sugars, now I split the drink up so it is only half of that per meal/snack. I won't do this all the time as I would rather not have that many calories per meal but it's a nice treat every once in a while and the protein/Calorie ratio is awesome. Anyways, make sure you look at the big picture, and push through this time, it will get better! And in a few months you will barely remember the way you felt about protein shakes, you will be so wrapped up in the weight loss you won't care!! Good Luck with your journey, it is one heck of a ride!!!!

Can you have a sugar free popsicle? I had never eaten one before surgery but they were a lifesaver after surgery. Something to bite into that was cold and refreshing.

Add a tablespoon of sugar free Jello pudding (pistachio or cheesecake were my favorites) and blend it with your shake. Varying the taste made a huge difference for me, but it was during my post surgery liquid phase.

I feel your pain. I was on shakes two weeks prior to surgery and two weeks after. I hated them by the end, and haven't been able to drink one since. But, you've gotta do it. Soon, this tough time will be a distant memory, and the wonderful changes in your life will stun you. Hang in there. You're worth the effort.

I am just over 2 months post op and getting the shakes down became difficult for me about a month ago. Your taste buds change frequently. I purchased variety packs of shakes along with the large containers because one day you will like something and the next you won't. I have also started using this liquid protein that I purchased at Wal-mart. It has 42 grams of protein in one tube and it's not a lot to drink. I usually split one and drink half now and half later. Bariatric Fusion has some pretty good flavors as well. Also make your own chicken broth, you can add more flavor than the store bought version. You can do it!!! Start thinking out of the box and be creative.
If you're craving crunch, put the protein shake into a Popsicle mold... My favorite is doing that with chocolate protein powder, sugar-free jell-o, and unsweetened soy milk. I just add as much milk as the jell-o requires, add in a few scoops of protein powder, then pour it into the molds. It turns out tasting like a fudgesicle! If you're like me, you can bite/crunch the popsicle too. :) Good luck!

I love the fairlife milk takes just like real milk to thickness or vitamin taste. I also like Isopure drinks, not the powder. They are premade in glass jars taste like watered down Gatorade, no sugar or aspartame, 40g of protein a bottle. they have all kinds of flavors, blue raspberry, grape, coconut, peach, punch and on and on... try them out... they are a great alternative to the choc. and van. shakes
