Calcium and Iron questions...
I take the Opurity Bypass Multivitamins. They only have 50 mg of Calcium. I also take 3 Bariatric Advantage Carmel calcium chews divided 2 hours apart throughout the day. Is that little bit of calcium (50 mg) enough to interfere with my Iron+C? I take a Celebrate Iron+C 30 mg at night.
I am needing to move meds around to be done with vitamins and supps by 4pm. I am not sure I can get this accomplished if I can't take the multi and iron together. I just found out my Levothyroxine needs to be 4-6 hours from all my supplements.
My last TSH last week was up a good bit, from 2.2 up to 3.4. I have been taking the Levo, then 30 minutes later starting my other supps. It is affecting the absorption of my Levo. I was told to take it last thing at night, 4-6 hours from anything else. (I was doing morning.).
Taking your multi and iron together is probably ok. My multi has 108 mg of calcium in it and 18 mg of iron. A small amount of calcium is not enough to block the iron absorption.
I take my Levo in the morning, and wait four hours to start my vitamins and calcium. It must be separated from iron and calcium by four hours, but that doesn't mean you have to take it at night. I know that works for some people, but it can interfere with your sleep.
