Happy Hour
So I'm 2 1/2 months post op and doing great. I'm a teacher and one of the things my co-workers and I love to do is go out for happy hour after work on Fridays. I don't plan on drinking for at least a year because I don't know how it will affect me. I haven't told these people that I had this surgery. I want to still be social with my friends and go out with them but I am trying to figure out what I can drink besides water. Any ideas?
If you want to order something and still look like you're drinking alcohol, you can try:
OJ watered down with water as a virgin screwdriver
Water in a tumbler with ice and a lime wedge
My favorite: A virgin bloody mary.
All safe when sipped slowly,

Unsweetened iced tea, hot tea, or coffee.

Okay, you might think I am crazy, but I carry my tervis tumbler everywhere (including bars). I go with my husband and bring in my tumbler. The bars don't care. The people I am with are drinking. The people you are with will probably notice that you aren't drinking . . . it's okay, just tell them you are making a healthy change in your life . . . it's true after all.
