AV, I completely understand too! I've made a point to tell my husband that I need extra support to get through this current mental meltdown. I have to keep reminding myself that I still have more to go and not to settle for what I've done so far. So I have been trying to be extra vigilant about protein and veggies.

B-turkey (long story but definitely will not leave my house without a back up plan again)

S-honeydew melon/fiber wafer

L-buffalo chicken on a salad

S-SF jello or cucumbers

D-? I've been having issues with dinner---I'm just not hungry and nothing sounds good.

Hey Kristin,

Girl I feel you.  I am almost 2 years out and there are times I feel like I need ALL THE FOOD.

I occasionally succumb (Skinny Pop must leave this house immediately) but I have found two things that help me. I mean physical things, because even hanging a picture of a hot body on the fridge can't always win against my mind.

1. Dense protein.  Do I crave chicken or salmon like I crave combos?  No freaking way.  But whereas I can eat a seemingly unlimited amount of slider foods/carbs, I am truly reminded of my restriction when I eat something like chicken breast or crab or turkey.  So if I can just make myself make my snack a dense protein, I get full and then there is no room for the **** :)

2. Drink.  An example - I had breakfast around 10 am and around 11:30 I was "hungry".  I mean, likely not, and it certainly wasn't appropriate to have a snack or an early lunch (being only 1.5 hours after breakfast).  So I made myself drink a 33 oz bottle of water.  That took time, it helped me with my daily liquids goal, and it filled me up.  I had lunch at 12:40, once the water was gone, which is still on the early side, but better than it would have been.

It's a daily fight.  We are all here for you and FULLY understand.

Time Since Surgery: 21 months

B: Coffee with half and half, 1 hard boiled egg, 10 small green olives, 1 oz Iberico cheese

L: 2 oz salmon on wheat thins with little dollops of cream cheese

S: 2 Trader Joe's jalapeno chicken sausage

D: Chicken korma, no rice

E: None today :(  I had an early meeting and it's eleventy billion degrees out (to steal my favorite phrase of yours, Kristin)

Totals are: 1,300 calories, 79 g protein, 61 g carbs

Have a good day, drink a **** ton of water, and hold strong, AV and all!

Great tips! Especially about drinking... sometimes I am a slacker when it comes to my water. And, I never feel hungry so my "hunger" is definitely head hunger.  And, more than likely, I am thirsty and not hungry.

I so hear you about the eating.... I am mentally struggling the last 2 months, once I got close to that magical one year mark it just seems harder and harder. The carbs are so much easier to eat. I threw out a loaf of bread yesterday and leftovers from my house guests..... don't need to eat them. All of a sudden it seems like I can eat more... the restrictions seems much less......
