I really need to put up some pictures of me in my 20's so I will remind myself what I used to look like back then.

AV, stay strong!  Go for a walk, fold laundry, take a bath and tell your husband to SHUT UP!!  Unfortunately I get that all thime from people at work.  Many have no idea how I looked a year ago and do not understand how I never finish a meal.  Seriously?  Portion sizes are out of control and you are worried about me??  Anyway, I digress, you are doing awesome!  Keep up the good work and continue to fight the good fight.  WLS is not a sprint, rather it is an ultra-marathon for the rest of our lives.

"WLS is not a sprint, rather it is an ultra-marathon for the rest of our lives. "

I am printing that out and putting it on my computer at work... words to live by!

I know your encouragement was directed to AV, but I am going to take some, too.

Happy 14th month surgiversary!

Well, being just over a month out, I don't exactly have the best of tips.  In fact, yesterday, was a win/lose situation.  I had a bit of a setback but managed not to binge.  It was a pretty bad day, and coupled with my raging hormones (which is new to me), I ordered in All The Food. Looking at it (I'm talking milkshake, devil's food cake, hot wings, and tomato soup), I knew I shouldn't do it.

Instead, I ate most of the (small) tomato soup, which is what I would normally have at a meal, had a sip of the milkshake, a bite of the cake, and then tossed the rest.  (Waste of money, but better in the garbage than in my body.)

Oddly enough, I felt a sense of strength and power in doing that. With hope, I can transfer that feeling of strength and power to NOT ordering in the food LOL.

Good news is I stayed within my calorie content for the day, surprisingly enough, though I did miss out on the protein!

B: Protein shake

S: Coffee

L: Protein shake and chicken meat dipped in hot sauce

S: Pureed carrots

D: Protein shake

Cal: 780 Prot: 73.5 g H20: At least 48 ounces, as I'll be drinking all day.

No straying today,

Yeah you for throwing the food away! What a great NSV! I have been known to throw it away and put something really yucky on top to stop all temptation. My fat picture really helps me keep my goals and success in mind. Plus time seems to make the hard choices a bit easier. You will get there LB!

Thank you, karenp8!

I've heard of putting unappetizing items on top of the food to render it inedible.  *nods*  I'm glad that time seems to helping-  I'm looking forward to the hard choices getting easier!
