Ok. I am seeing a lot of soft foods. Specificially, the hummus, yogurt, deli meat (really..this is processed), smoked sausage and cheese. No wonder you are hungry.
If your plan and stage permit. Would you be willing to try chicken breast or meat from whole chickens, steak, pork chops/ pork loin. Real ham (not deli). Would you be willing to try dense vegetables too like sauteed peppers and onions. Green beans with almonds. cucumbers, grilled zucchini? How about grilled squash? How about dense fruits like half an apple?
For snacks (you would have to watch the quantity/calories)-nuts like whole almonds.
I am not saying what you are having is wrong. What I am saying is...that food is soft and if I ate a whole day of that, I would be hungry too! Your meal look yummy and tasty. There isnt anything dietitatically wrong with it (that I can see) other than it is soft slidery foods.

Yep, I know that deli meat is processed. I have no problem with eating chicken, steak, pork, seafood - but that's not realistically going to happen at every meal for me. My lunch is most likely going to be processed food, I know some people are against that but that's how it's going to be for me unless I have leftovers from a meal and then I eat those until they're gone. It happened that this weekend we didn't have any food in the house because DH had to work 12 hour days 5 days in a row and I had interviews so no cooking happened.
I do eat veggies in meals all the time if they are cooked with the meal - the artichoke chicken had zucchini and onions in it. Our meals usually have some kind of veggies in them. But if they are a side dish I usually don't have room for them after the protein. I haven't eaten an apple yet. So far the only fruit I've had is strawberries and peaches. I've been working my way up slowly to more, I haven't wanted to eat too much fruit due to calories and carbs. I also snack on almonds, just not this weekend either.
I am feeling the same way, so I really think it is happening because of how far you are from surgery. Healthy fats really help keep away the hunger. Here are some things that help me:
1. Eating half a serving of cashews with a cheese stick as a snack.
2. Adding 7 grams of unsweetened coconut to plain greek yogurt.
3. Eating 1 tablespoon of chia seeds soaked in three ounces of almond milk before bed every night.
4. Hard boiled eggs, I make a bunch and just keep them in the fridge.
5. Salted chickpeas, I buy them dried, cook them, and stir in salt after draining them. They are great straight out of the fridge, and you can freeze them. Plus they save on calories as compared to hummus.
6. I don't eat ground or deli meats. I eat rotisserie chicken, chicken breasts, tuna, pork, or fish if I go to a restaurant. I just bought some turkey jerky from trader joe's, so I am hoping to add that to my list.

Melinda,
I have started eating 1 or 2 oz of meat for my snack. So if I have 3oz of fish for lunch then for snack I will have another 1 or 2oz. This way I have dense protien but no carbs or sugars for my snack. We always make sure that when we cook we always pull out the next days lunch/snack for me, this way no one in the house says oh look there's more meat let me eat it. LOL Also, my husband is a firm believer that the noises we hear our "stomach" make is actually the food moving through our intestines since it doesn't sit too long in the stomach (not sure if this is correct but it makes since). I haven't added any extra calories to my diet but have noticed my weight loss is def slowing down, now I'm not sure if that is because of what my current weight is and since I don't have as much to lose now I'm going to fight tooth and nail for the weight loss or if maybe I'm doing something wrong. I just thought I would share what might work for you since you actually feel hungry. Good Luck, keep up the GREAT work and I'm sure it will all work out in the long run!
