Gallbladder???

How do you know if you are having issues with your gallbladder? I am 2 weeks post-op as of tomorrow and for at least the last week I have pain on my right side. It radiates all the way into my back. It is especially painful after meals and in the evenings. Thoughts?

this is classic gallbladder pain. Your surgeon or PPP will need to order a scan to see for sure

Thank you for the response. I called the doctor's office and they are going to schedule a scan for hopefully tomorrow. I just hope it doesn't need to be removed.

Gall bladder problems are really common for anyone with large weight loss, surgery or not. Get checked out as soon as you can.

And gallbladder problems are especially common for women over a certain age, those who are obese, and from rapid weight loss. Yeah, we hit the trifecta jackpot! ;) I had mine removed last fall as a result--BTW, note that having it removed doesn't guarantee no further pain if you're one of the unlucky ones...

your symptoms sounds "classic" to what I experienced this past spring. Gall bladder removed and I still had gall bladder attacks for 4 more months. Guess it takes awhile to heal inside-out. Surgery very simple and recovery went well. Good luck and blessings to you!
