Made it to the 130's today...what is that like?

I remember being 250 pounds longing for that day when I was 165 lbs (lowest adult weight I can remember).  It's not that I liked myself more, but I didn't HATE myself like I did at 250.  I didn't hate my appearance.  I didn't hide from the camera or decline invitations because I was embarrassed of my weight.

Never in a million years did I think I'd be in the 150's (my original goal weight).  Then a couple of months ago, I hit the 140's.  Completely uncharted territory for me.  Today the scale is 139.  I don't know what it's like to have a body of this size.  I lived a life of morbid obesity for so long.  And now here I am as a runner with a completely different life. I was going for a run and my daughter said, "Momma, you look so fit!" What a compliment.  She took my picture.  And...I didn't hide from the camera.  I let her take 2.

I hesitate to post too many pics of myself - always good to keep the hubris in check...but something clicked tonight.  I don't hate myself anymore.

Sorry for rambling.

You look great, congrats on the weight loss. I won't know what its like to be under 300 lbs. been morbidly obese for so long I won't even know how to act.

Wow! Amazing. It is funny I too have a weight that is the lowest I remember being as an Adult. I am 18 pounds away.... So that is one of my goals. I keep saying once I hit that, I will see where I go from there... New territory is interesting.

I think you look phenomenal!!!!!  Keep doing what you are doing.  If you didn't tell me I would not have put you as a person who has had WLS, you look like you have always been this fit and toned so you are so long and lean, just gorgeous.

Your first paragraph really speaks to me on a very visceral level...quoting you:

"I remember being 250 pounds longing for that day when I was 165 lbs (lowest adult weight I can remember).  It's not that I liked myself more, but I didn't HATE myself like I did at 250.  I didn't hate my appearance.  I didn't hide from the camera or decline invitations because I was embarrassed of my weight."

I to was 250 at my highest and like you at 250 I hated myself, hated my picture being taken, and declined invitations because of my weight, and was embarrassed and ashamed.  Thank you for being so open and honest. You put into words how I was feeling.

Keep up the amazing work!!

All the best, Daisy
