Benadryl...ok to take?

im feeling crazy allergic this weekend (we are up at a lake house)....I haven't taken Benadryl since my surgery. I'm 8.5 months out...should it be ok?

Banded 12/18/08. Band removed and revision to RNY on 12/15/14.

I've taken it (well, diphenhydramine) in Midol PM without any issues. It wasn't on my list of drugs to avoid at all.

Your allowed to take midol?? Isn't that an NSIAD?

Midol is not a nsaid. It was around years before NSAIDS were available over the counter. I do think it had aspirin 50 years ago, but not now.

Midol comes in two versions: one with acetaminophen (Tylenol) and one with ibuprofen (Advil). You just have to look for the one with Tylenol. You are right that you should avoid the one with ibuprofen in it.

Regular Midol has a few different preparations, some with ibuprofen and some without, but Midol PM just has acetaminophen and diphenhydramine (Tylenol and Benadryl).
