Sugar alcohol? Fructose? I thought protein shakes were just until you could eat your protein ? I don't get it. Help me understand

I'm a big fan of the flavour extracts, and when I have them I can avoid the aspartame and sugar alcohols... so I buy the peppermint extract, almond extract, and coconut extracts and add them to my shakes, coffee, whatever!

I use the extracts as well (for the same reasons)... but some of the flavors don't taste right, especially the 'imitation' ones like maple and hazelnut.  So, when I tried the SF Hazelnut Torani over the weekend I was so excited!  It really tastes great.  The peach Torani is also very good.  The Torani Peanut Butter is very mild, and I needed an extra 2 shots to really taste it, so I'm not as excited about that one.

As for extracts - my new fave is Raspberry.  I also love the peppermint, almond and orange flavored extracts.  A VERY small amount goes a long way with extracts.

Thanks for this fun post - I can't wait to try even more Torani flavors (that I can't get in extract form).

I don't do protein drinks, but I like to use the Torani syrups (diluted) to make snow cones. Put some water in a large cup, add your syrup to taste, shave ice into cup until full. It really helped me on days when I was struggling to drink. You can eat it with a spoon, and ends up with fewer carbs than the SF popsicles (at least the ones I can find around here). And then after having some I'm freezing and hubby has fun warming me up.

Salted caramel is my favorite followed by caramel . Pumpkin spice isn't bad nor is hazelnut and almond.
