Hi All, I have just joined the group. I am on month 3 of my weight loss journey. I am hoping for surgry near the holidays! Yikes I think I am nuts. I am looking to by by pass surgery and hope to get added support and knowledge from this group. I have alreay dropped 29 pounds and looking forward to not only loosing more but becoming healthier and more active. I am a 51 year old who has spent her life taking care of others. I now decided to take care of me.
Any advice for this journey would be appreciated!

Surgery works. You just have to follow the rules so that you stay healthy while losing your excess weight.
At 51 you can reasonably expect 49 more years of life, once you are healthy and at an ideal weight. That is a long time to enjoy life and to take care of yourself.
You are not nuts, you are smart.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
The time will just fly by. I have my RNY this Wednesday, been at it for almost a year now, but it doesn't seem that long. Take this time to learn and absorb from those been there done it vets on here and learn from them.

Welcome to the group. I am pre-surgery as well and have lost 31lbs so far. I'm hopefully getting surgery in Oct. pending clearance from my cardiologist. I need to get a cardiac catheterization done due to having 2 stents in one artery. There is so much that you will learn here and it's a great place!
