Post Op 9 days any suggestions would help..
For the past couple of weeks Ive have found this website to be so helpful and informative that I would welcome any suggestions for my personal journey..
Is there an alternative to the chewable vitamins? I am having such a hard time getting them all down daily? Also, I have alot of discomfort just below where my drain was placed, I am assuming this is normal? A plugged left ear , and finally I also have a UTI and I have been prescribed Cephalexin 3xs a day for this to be taken with applesauce. Is there any other way to take this medicine? Any words of wisdom is much appreciated!
I don't know if it will help, but I'm on a blood pressure pill that I have to crush (get a pill crusher at the drugstore) and then I mix it in either Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt (80 Cals) or put it in my Premier Protein drink. I don't even notice it. I still do chewable vitamins, so sorry, no suggestions there.
I am currently taking a liquid multi. There are some out there. Just make sure it has all you need. I also have a UTI and am taking same med. your plan for taking it is better than mine, which is straight. Stuff tastes nasty, but just a few more days, hopefully. By the way, the liquid does not have a good taste either, but does not linger.
Best to you.
My first week plus was pretty good. Made error with iron and was not advised to start miralax, ran into serious trouble with constipation and impaction. That was worse than surgery by far. Still trying to get regulated. This challenged my ability to walk enough. Was pretty much house bound much of this week. Saw GI today and think I will be out of the woods in a couple of days. Originally planned six weeks off work, changed that to 4 since I was feeling so good. Readjusted to six off again today. I want my pipes regulated before my return.
Suggestions to myself that might be helpful to fellow travelers....folllow rules...don't mess around. Reread material to assure proper set up of routine with all the new details.....believe the MDs when they say I will be OK.....stop testing limits, it will not help..accept and appreciate the support of others.....enjoy dumping clothes I hate, forever more....
Best to all
I am so grateful for this website and being able to speak to others who are facing the same challenges I am. I know that I too will have bumps in the road that I too will get over them but im just trying to stay positive while I get there. I had also the same thing you did as well with constipation, it was 8 days before I had a movement and unfortunately I have not had one since, I agree it's painful.
