Well, I am home from surgery! I got home yesterday evening. The procedure went well. I can't thank you all enough for all the help and prayers!

I am having some pain/discomfort but not as much as I imagined I would have. I started Miralax today. I am trying to get in my protein but I am only getting about half, and sipping my water. I think I might be sipping too fast at times because I get this hiccup/burp thing that happens, and let me just say painful!

It feels like a dream! I am just so happy to have the surgery done!!

I have also been walking as much as I can, and since it has been so humid here, I have been walking many, many laps in the house. I am just afraid to do too much outside that would make me sweat so much while I know I am not getting enough water/shakes in.

    Thanks,

izzi

Burps and hiccups are normal. So is gas! Fluids are the most important thing right now. You do not want to get dehydrated. You'll end up in the er with an iv for a couple hours. The protein shakes do count for both fluids and protein. You may have to try a few kinds to find a favorite. Some people on the site have reported hating all shakes but personally I have had no problems with any. In fact even on maintenance there are times when I don't feel like eating a meal and just have a shake. A dinner is still 3 ounces protein and half cup veggies with a little carb when there is room. So happy you fought the insurance and won. Now you just have to make it to "w"onderland!

YAY!!  That is awesome!!  After all you went through it must be a relief to have it done and over..time to recoup and look forward to your journey.  Looking forward to hearing how you are doing, I will get my surgery date next week and it will be sometime in October!  Take it slow and congrats!!
