The oddest NSV!

I have wooded conservation land down the street, and yesterday I decided to go for a nice long walk with a friend. About 1/2 mile in, she was swatting Mosquitos away, getting bitten, and feeling miserable.

I literally was not bitten once--I presume, because I have zero sugar in my system. I'm usually covered in welts from bites, but I guess I'm not so sweet, anymore!

I am going to try.  It rained yesterday, and the trails I walk on usually have  a ton of mosquitos.  Last time I walked, I put the bug spray in my pack rather than apply it. I'm anxious to see if the sugar or changing hormones affect the bugs.  Thanks for the heads up.  I'd love to get rid of another chemical in my life.

Mosquitos are actually attracted to the carbon dioxide we breathe out, not necessarily sugar.  Some people do have a body chemistry that makes them more attractive to mosquitos and some less attractive.  But not getting eaten alive is an NSV I'd count!  :D

I read a Readers Digest article many years ago that said that the mosquitos bite people at a higher body temperature.  I always get warm quickly and get bitten if I don't remember bug spray.  That has not changed for me since surgery.  I get bit as much weighing 126 as I did weighing 212.
