How long is protein powder good for once mixed?

I have a birthday party to take my kids to tomorrow.  We live very rurally and the party is an hour away...2 hours for the party then an hour back home.  If I mixed some Unjury with water and Crystal Light in a water bottle before leaving the house tomorrow about 9am, will it ruin by 1-2pm?  How long can you have it mixed before it goes bad?

unfortunately I don't know that answer but I can say that many times I mix it the night before and put it in the fridge then pack it in my lunch and take it to work  the next day and drink it around 10am. I hope I wasn't depriving myself of protein!

My NUT told me that the efficacy of the protein begins to decline after 30 minutes. My surgeon doesn't recommend the premiere protein shakes for the same reason. He says to make them shelf stable it ruins the protein. Don't know for sure if either statement is accurate. I always take my coconut milk in a thermos and a shaker bottle.

Good question! I have an Unjury shake every morning, and I recently started pre-mixing them the night before to save time in the morning since I start work at 7am. The taste is always fine, but I never thought about the integrity or absorption of the protein being affected. I just emailed [email protected] to ask. I'll let you know when I hear back!

Thank you. I'm very interested because I do the same as you with pre-mixing the night before.

I'm interested in that as well; I mix it up the night before so I can grab it on my way out in the mornings.

Sorry in advance for posting this multiple times, but I wanted to be sure to reply to everyone who was interested. Here's what the dietitian from Unjury said about pre-mixing shakes:

Hi Erica,

Thanks for being an UNJURY customer and thanks for your question!

What you are doing is perfectly fine! J And I, along with many customers, do the same thing too for convenience. It does not change the quality or absorption of the protein whatsoever.

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have further questions!

I think a lot depends on the brand. I have seen some that claim they're only good for 20 mins after mixing. I carry protein powder in ziploc bags and my shaker cup with almond milk in it if I dont have a ready made shake with me.
