Wellbutrin Sustained Release?
My Pdoc wants me to try Wellbutrin SR (sustained release) Has anyone used the Sustained Release after RNY? I used the search bar at the top, most posts were quite old, but there were some that did take the SR and it worked fine? Just looking for any recent gastric by pass patients on it?
This depression is really getting to me :(
Thanks

I'm on wellbutrin but I'm only one week post op. I find that I'm okay with it. They had to lower my dosage because it was too high on my baby stomach, but I seem stable still. I have not had anything which has made me concerned about the absorption of it.
Does the label have SR , ER or XL after it? if you do not mind me asking ?
I was told SR and ER are the same , and XL is the long acting so usually 1 pill a day, where as the other 2 slowly release, ?
I Googled and am more confused then ever what the SR, ER and XL mean?

Malabsorption can change the way medicine is released throughout the day.
I was on timed-release Effexor before the surgery and my primary doctor changed it too, given the potential malabsorption issues mentioned by White Dove.
Was as this suggestion made by your surgeon or another doctor? You might want to confirm with your surgeon.
