Maybe its an NSV... or Maybe not???
So I had my 6 mth surgeon appt Fri. I saw his Intern first and he was really sweet. He said he'd been with the Surgeon for a few mths now and I was the single best example he'd seen yet of a WLS success story. He was a young 30ish and to have him so complimentary to me at 46 was very flattering. He told me repeatedly how great I was doing and how fantastic I looked. And I gotta tell ya, I feel great!
Then the surgeon came in, and he was not so happy with me. Didn't like the fact that im not eating fruit as a regular part of my diet. Really didn't like the fact that id opted to start using the vitamin patch without checking with them first. But ultimately both he and the dietician said it seems to be working for me. But they cautioned me to followup with my PC Doc for labs next mth as I don't have an apt with the WLS clinic for 3 mths, and they want me to stop losing...which I don't get. Im still considered overweight for 8 more lbs. I just don't get this. I know Ive told other people ultimately you have to just keep doing your thing until you are happy with your weight. But I know about bounceback, and I haven't even reached a normal BMI or my goal yet. Really a little disappointing...
You look great!! I'm in a similar situation. My surgeon's goal is at the high end of overweight (16 pounds from now) while my own goal is high end of normal (43 more pounds). So, I'm planning to just keep going until I feel comfortable and healthy. My surgeon told me that if I am below my goal at my 1 year, she'll worry about anorexia. Ok, I'll take that part seriously but the high end of normal makes sense to me!

Jo,
Listen to the young doc! You look Amazing my friend!!! Did you and the Surgeon discuss what he thought was a good weight for you sometime around your 3 month check up? I know that's when me and my doc discussed it. Funny thing is we totally agreed with each other. I have a really good relationship with my doc since he is the one *****moved my lap band and I kinda got 3 really bad infections two of which were in my incisions and they had to heal from the inside out. Anyways, I would think your surgeon would be very pleased by your weight loss! In other words, forget what he told you, he probably will by your next apt. LOL
As far as you wanting to lose more to get a little under a "normal" BMI so that when bounce back happens you are still at a "normal" BMI, I say "you're one smart cookie". Do what makes you happy, after all what is he going to do? Take the surgery away. Keep doing what you're doing and the body will know when to stop and so will you! Good luck girl!
