How long did you stay on protein drinks?

Funny you should say this.  My poor husband has been trying SO HARD to get me to eat shrimp.  I have never liked them.  I LOVE crab, but I don't like shrimp or lobster.  Now he is laughing and saying this is going to get me to try it again.  I am going to try this weekend, and I am hoping my tastes have changed so I can enjoy it.

Lobster is not my thing, but I love shrimp ****tail.  You can make your own low sugar ****tail sauce, too.  Soooo good!

I guess that is the thing.  Crab I can eat the meat totally by it's self with no sauce or butter.  Lobster needs butter, and I really don't like ****tail sauce.  So I'd have to find some other sauce to make them in.  He said a butter sauce would not be bad, or a pesto, but that jacks up my calorie total.

Honestly, I dip a lot of stuff in mustard, or a mustard/low sugar ketchup mix.  That would probably be pretty good if you're going the cold shrimp route.  Or even just a little lemon squeezed over all.

Aaaaaand, now I want shrimp.  LOL

I have a course mustard that is awesome.  And honey mustard is always yummy.  I could try lemon.  Do you do big shrimp or the little tiny ones?

I have these huge scallops in the freezer too that I was going to cook when my husband and I have a nice dinner alone, but i make that with a wine and butter sauce that is SOOO not in my calorie allowance.  LOL

I buy the large size pre-cooked shrimp at Target in the frozen section.  It's actually cheaper there than anywhere else around me.  I portion it out in the morning it's pretty much defrosted by lunchtime.

Guess who's stopping at Target on the way home...this girl!  LOL

If it weren't for the flooding I would be headed to Target too.  You have made me want to try new things.  Thanks hon!!!

I would prefer my protein from food as well but I've tried without the shake and I just can't manage to get enough in! I drink one for breakfast every day, I'm guessing I'll be doing that for quite a while.

I am 15 months out and still have a protein shake in the a.m. My labs were low so my dr. suggested I add one to my diet. I have a very "shakey" pouch in the morning and shakes work best or else I wouldnt have anything until closer to lunch.
