I got really tired, really quick of powdered protein shakes after my RNY.  The premade Premier shakes ended up being the only ones I could tolerate.  They are more expensive, but for me to be able to drink them without gagging, they were worth it.

I switch off quite often - to this day, I still have a shake most days for either breakfast or a snack. Various companies switch their formulations a bit from time to time....sometimes I'll love a particular brand for a while then it will suddenly seem too sweet, too thick...or something! Jus****ch for low sugar, high protein, and high quality whey protein.

Dannon Lite & Fit Yogurt, Sugar free popsicles (Popsicle brand only - most store brands use sorbitol), crystal light.

Is Sorbitol something bad that we should be looking out for?

For many of us sorbitol (or any artificial sweetener that ends in -ol like maltitol) can wreak havoc on our stomachs.  My stomach felt like it was being ripped apart after eating certain sorbitol sweetened sugar free pudding.  I could hear the weird noises and feel cramps.  I stay away from it at all costs, you may not have the same experience...

I stocked up on all this expensive shakes and never drank one . My dr at Mayo

said we need to eat our protein. Beef jerky..wayyyy to hard on new pouch and loaded with salt and chemicals. SF chocolate pudding has never been in my mouth.thats like filling your little tummy with substitute crap. Sorry no offense. We can't eat like we did before. We can't say well I will just substitute sf . I eat clean. I don't eat anything that has more than 3 ingredients on the label. Sorry if I hurt anyone with pudding comment. I tend to say it like it is. Check out my before and after . This little .....yah.... Old lady does know what's she's talking about
