6 month question!
So, my 6 month mark is approaching fast and I have a question or two. How was your weight loss after 6 months? How long did you lose up until and are you still losing? My weight loss has been super slow the past couple of months and I was told that after 6 months, it only gets slower. Any shares would be much appreciated.
Hi! I'm 8 months out. Here is how my weight loss is tracking:
month 1: -28 lbs (this includes 20lbs I lost on the pre-op diet)
month 2: -12 lbs
month 3: -13 lbs
month 4: -18 lbs
month 5: -8 lbs
month 6: -6 lbs
month 7: -10 lbs
month 8 (so far): -4 lbs
Hope this helps.
Mine (any many others') are in the signatures below each post. Starting weight, age, gender, etc. all play a part. You say your weight loss has been super slow for the past couple of months...so since month 4 it's been slow? Do you have a lot to lose?

I'm at about 5 months and 3 weeks right now, and I can tell you I've been in a stall for weeks. It's so dang frustrating. I haven't changed anything with my program and still logging every morsel that I put in my mouth daily. I have never once gone over 600 calories in any single day while still getting all my protein and fluids in.
I'm very worried that my honeymoon is ending. So, I feel your pain.
PS: My monthly stats are below, and I'm not looking forward to calculating my last month - it won't be significant. :(
I am 6 months out and have lost 80 pounds from date of surgery and have not had a major stall. I have had some complications (bowel and pouch) and the one thing that I found to be the best advice was to increase my calories to 1000 a day. YES I did say increase lol. Both my surgeon and my nut insisted that I increase calories from 600 to 1000 but to make sure that all those calories were protein, complex carbs and healthy fats. I am also reactively hypoglycemic so I do eat carbs with each meal... 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. I know this sounds radical, but you might want to ask your surgeon/doctor/nutritionist if you should in fact still be at 600 calories. This might be causing your body to burn muscle instead of fat, is what I was told, and once you lose muscle mass it is gone for good. Muscle stimulation is a key part of weightloss which is why weight lifting is highly recommended for rny patients. Just a thought. Make sure that what you are doing is what your professionals feel is best for you, and not necessarily what others have done or recommend... myself included. I send you best wishes on your journey.

I just revised from Band to RNY, but I the first few months of being banded, whenever I had a stall it was increasing the calories that finally broke me out of the lull.
- High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
- High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
- Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
- Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
- Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)
You're ten days ahead of me and I've slowed down significantly too. I figure as long as it keeps going down, that's the right direction. I have been holding steady at 182 for the past ten days. How much more were you planning to lose? I'm aiming for 20 more I think; I still have a big stomach and find pants are way too big on my legs and butt to be able to fit around my stomach. I have my annual physical with my PCP next week and six-month checkup coming in a few weeks, so I plan to ask both if that's a realistic place to aim i.e. how much of this stomach is fat I can still lose and how much is skin I can plan to have tucked in a couple years. My surgeon's office so far has said that I soould just ride the wave down and let my body decide, however that was three months ago :)
